…IN with the NEW

Today I began to dismantle my home. The un-decorating, is that correct? un-decorating, de-decorating? I don’t know…I started taking down my Christmas decorations.  So now what? I am in transition between Christmas and Valentine’s Day. It’s a little confusing.

Now that I am eliminating the “OLD” it’s time to work on the “NEW”.

I am completely in love with this creative idea I found on Creative Home Arts:

Change the way you look at yourself—and your room—with a custom-made mirror. Purchase a frame without glass (think flea market or junk store finds) in a size that fits the wall area you want to decorate. Then select a framed mirror that is smaller than the frame. For a contemporary spin on this design, choose a large frame and add several small mirrors inside the frame. Cut a piece of lightweight wood to fit the back opening of the frame. Cover the wood with the fabric of your choice—get creative! Choose complementary colors and patterns to bring out the detail in your favorite bedroom quilt or the comfy throw that’s in your living room. Glue the fabric edges to the back with permanent fabric adhesive. Position the mirror as you like on the right side of the fabric-covered board and nail the frame in place from the back.

Create your own style with a custom-made mirror that will compliment the decor of any room in your home.

Change the way we see our selves…BRILLIANT!

Creative Home Arts Club also has a “Click and Win” contest. Ends March 15, 2009, for members only. Quick and easy sign up, click here to see what you could win!

Not only can a wonderful mirror craft change your outlook, redecorating more than just your walls can brighten your mood.  While sitting at the nail salon waiting my turn to “git my nails did”  I happen to skim though the Woman’s World Magazine.  It was the December 29, 2008 issue, but you know what? They have some good things in there! Complimenting the above mirror craft, this redecorating idea is easy, simple and put a huge smile on my face! I even had a dream that I purchased material and whipped up a few brand new bright yellow couch cushion covers and throw pillows!

A vase here, some candles there, a throw blanket and a whole new room has evolved. It’s so inspiring! And I bet you already have all these things, you just have to look in your home and color coordinate!

And yes I am!

Lemonade…that cool refreshing drink!

Published by momma under Exciting & New Edit This

I swear whenever I hear someone say the word “Lemonade”…I always think of Eddie Murphy, when he was doing his stand up routines in one of those Delirious or Raw vcr tape releases. He made a joke about Elvis, singing his way through all his movies…and somebody asked Elvis he wanted some lemonade, and he sings, “Lemonade…that cool refreshing drink!”  OMG! I found it on You Tube! LOOK:

Now I have been nominated for a Lemonade award by my blogging friend at Being Bipolar and I am so flattered!  Especially to be included on a list of fellow bloggers who are just so deserving.  It is not easy to sit and spill. But we do it most everyday, not only to hear the clicking of our nails on the keyboard, but moreso with the hopes that we will connect, maybe we’ll reach someone who will say, “I can relate to that, I understand.”

We write about our dreams, our opinions, our daily devices, our insane days, our good days, the things which interest us, the things that ruffle our feathers, the things that make us cry and things that make us smile.

Lemonade is sweet and so are we.
