Your kids can ~LOVE~ to eat healthy this holiday!

Being healthy is important to many of us these days, especially to me. My husband and I for a very long time were EXTREMELY overweight.  Hubby lost over 100 lbs and i have lost 40. It took a lot of determination, change of diet (not that we were eating bad things, just too much of regular foods) and exercize.

Above all, PRAYER.

As parents, it’s our responsibility to encourage our kids to turn off the tv and to teach good eating habits. The rules for healthy kids should be a routine,” I go to bed on time each night. I play outside when I can, and I eat healthy meals and snacks. I trust God to guide me to make healthy choices.”

~PLAN A HEALTHY SNACK ~ Wednesday, December 3rd, 2008

Ants on a log

Ingredients:

2 celery sticks

6 tablespoons of peanut butter

2 tabespoons of raisins or dried cranberries

Cut the ends of the celery sticks. Fill the center of the celery with peanut butter. Press the raisins (ants) gently into the top of the peanut butter and ENJOY!

For added fun, cut broccoli to make “bushes” and place them around the plate. Low Fat Ranch dressing for a “lake” is great for dipping, cherry tomatoes can also be added to your garden of goodness!
