The Festivities Begin!
Today was some day! The Holiday festivities have begun! Today was run around, party after party day!
I actually slept until 8:30 AM, got out of bed and went downstairs. I turned on the coffee maker, did a load of laundry, then began to make farina and orange jello football jigglers. Multi~tasking at it’s best!
I then had to put together some costumes. My youngest daughter wanted to be a “punk cat” with those exact words written on the ass of her jeans. NOT HAPPENING…so I convinced her to let me put together a costume for her with what we had here. Some sparkly wings….big flouncy dress……blonde hair wig….
EUREKA!
THE TOOTH FAIRY!
I quickly cut out a white shaped object which looked like a tooth and sewed it onto the front of the dress, added some sparkles and wrote Tooth Fairy on the front.
Perfect!
Then my oldest daughter had a party at 5:00 PM at a friends house. She wanted to be a bunny…We have the ears and I had some flashy 70ish pants which I was going to sew a pink bunny fluffy tail onto…but my daughter is about to be 13 and I just wasn’t liking the way her ass was popping out of those spandexy shiny pants…so I suggested we look at the other things we have. I was able to take red and white striped knee high tights from a raggedy ann costume and a summer red and white striped dress which looked like a little saylors dress !
EUREKA AGAIN!
Sailor/Pirate/Cruise Director Girl!
whatever.
Tattoo on the shoulder, tights, sailor dress, big hoop earrings, sparkle lip gloss, hair in braids and a white cap with a girly skull drawn on it. PERFECT! I am good I tell ya!
My youngest son put his own outfit together…He emerged from his room in a dress shirt, dress shoes and dress pants…TA DAH! An undercover detective! YOU GO BOY!
Imagination, I love it!
So now that we have the costumes together, off we go to our first stop. The elementary school was having Family Fall Bingo Fun thingy day, so we played bingo. The kids are so blessed, they won some awesome prizes. Then we dropped the older kids off at thier friends house so they could all be driven to the “teen” party together. Then we drove over to the Sugar Mountain Firehouse #24, the ladies auxillary was having a kids halloween party. Ahhhhhh, sweet apple cider, freshly baked chocolate cookies shaped like cat heads with m&m eyes, eerie music, pumpkin painting, and a costume contest.
WONDERFUL EVENT!
Then I came home to a dark house. I saw the lights and emergency vehicles, but assumed it was just an accident. No, that would be too easy. The day was filled with torrential rains and lightening, someone hydroplained and hit the utility pole and a transformed blew.
Freakin’ great.
It wasn’t that bad actually, we lit candles, pulled out the monopoly and listened to music from my Juke. By 8:30 PM, we were restored. Thanks electric company! Regardless, this is just the begining of the running around because this is the begining of the holiday season for me. I quite enjoyed today and look forward to the months ahead!
Turkey day is next!
