~Save Money Momma~

Part of my morning routine is to turn on CNN and find out what is happening in the world.  I don’t have time to watch much television these days but being that I am an observer, you can see from my posts that I try to reflect on what I do see.

I am really concerned about what is going on in this world.  It’s become a neuisance and an anxiety all at the same time for me. Most of my life I have tried to have an upbeat outlook and focus on the positives, especially for the children. Lately I suppose that as many Americans are, I have been kind of skeptical as to which direction we are going.  Dare I say we have even considered moving out of the country to Australia or some other low crime, low impact country just so the kids can grow up with some type of security. Heck, we are 35 and 36 and WE need security.  God bless America, we love our country, don’t get me wrong, and I am glad to see that younger Americans are getting involved with social and political issues these days, but remember that until they are 18…their votes don’t count.

Back to the point I was going to make. This morning I noticed that the commericals on CNN are very different from the ones on other channels. They are moreso political right now understandibly.  One commerical which struck my heartstrings this morning was one created by DIVIDEDWEFAIL.org.  The commercial was a personal account of what the bills and stress of what one normal, middle class family had to endure, with sickness and medical bills bankruptcy was their only option.

Is that fair? Is it fair she said she,”Had no choice“?  You can click here to tell your story and watch and listen to others.  The suffering is RIGHT THERE. hard working, bill paying, tax paying people who because of circumstances which are out of thier control were FORCED to claim bankruptcy and now for the next 7 years they have to live with that. There HAS to be a better way.

How much worse will it get?

Let me make things clear that I am not advocating the website itself. I am speaking as one of the voices of Americans, who has worked, paid taxes, paid bills and just want to be able to live.   I am truly fed up with smear campaign techniques…I mean that last one with Bush and Gore was disgusting, all that mud slinging.  Now Mr. Gore is saving the planet , or at least making the best effort he can to do so.

This is what I think…I think Americans… no, PEOPLE all over the world don’t care about the negative ad campaigns and personal attacks on the candidates.  “His wife is a crack addict, He is a muslim “…GET OVER IT! I think we all want them to shut up and focus on US,  on what America needs.  On how “they” can work with the rest of the world and make this all a better place. Just exactly WHY do so many other countries HATE us? Because we are free to make our own choices on life, religion, lifestyle, employment, education? Is that really all it is?  No, I realize there is more to it than that. I know why we invaded Iraq and how Bush can sit there and tell us all how it’s “NOT ABOUT THE OIL”… you know what? whatever.

I just wanted to say that first off, I try not to get too political in my blogging because I would rather try to survive in this world by praising GOD and looking at the nicer side of life. I’d like to walk around with blinders on, that’s how I get by.  Secondly, I am not endorsing any candidates…I know who I would like to be our next president, but will not impose my beliefs on anyone else and lastly, I will say this:

If you are not registered to vote then please, don’t say shit when things don’t go the way you would like them to because you have a voice and you have a choice to exercize your rights or not.  That’s the beauty of being an American.
