Holiday Chocolate Chip Cookies Recipe!

I am completely in love with the Julie & Julia movie.  I’ve watched it twice already and tomorrow I am going to attempt the undertaking of recreating the authentic Julia Child Beef Bourginon recipe.

I have the upmost confidence I can complete the task and have a successful outcome…It’s the cheese souffle I am scared to death of!

I am not a master chef by any means. To tell the truth, one would say I am a mediocre cook at best, but I do try and some things I can make very well.  I believe I am a baker more than anything and I adore creating soups!

In the meantime, Christmas is 14 days away and if there is one thing Santa loves it’s cookies!  So I am going to give you the most simple chocoloate chip cookie recipe I have.  It’s so simple in fact, my 14 year old daughter was able to follow the instructions by herself!

  • 2-1/4 cups All-Purpose Unbleached Flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup butter, melted, cooled (1 cup = 2 sticks)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs, slightly beaten
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups semisweet chocolate morsels
  • Preheat oven to 375°F. Combine flour, baking soda and salt in medium bowl; set aside.Beat butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar by hand in large bowl until combined. Add eggs and vanilla; beat until well blended. Add flour mixture; mix until just combined. Dough will be soft; do not add additional flour. Stir in chocolate morsels.

Drop cookie dough by rounded tablespoons onto ungreased baking sheet about 1-1/2 inches apart.

Bake 12 to 14 minutes or until edges are crisp but centers are still soft. Let stand 2 minutes on baking sheet before removing and cooling completely on wire racks.

    They are delicious!
